Vanessa Villalpando had a choice when she graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2005. She could start her career in Psychology in which she had earned a Bachelor’s Degree or she could follow the encouragement of her brother, sister and sister-in-law by becoming a Realtor. Luckily for RE/MAX Fiesta City, she choice a career in real estate.

RE/MAX Fiesta City didn’t have the benefits of Vanessa’s hard work and professionalism right away. After graduating, Vanessa began working for an independent San Antonio real estate company until 2007 when she joined her brother, Florencio Villalpando’s office. Since that time her success has soared.

“My family members have played a major role in who I am as a Realtor,” she says. “They encourage and mentor me. I also love the resources now available to me through RE/MAX. My favorite is Agent Training on Demand through Mainstreet. I log on to remax.net every morning before I meet with a client and listen to ATOD, especially Brian Buffini. His words of encouragement are so motivating. Everyday it drives me to do better in my business.”

Aside from the tools and resources of RE/MAX, Vanessa has the advantages of training in Psychology which she uses to help her clients find the perfect home. “My background in Psychology has definitely helped me to understand my clients and what they are really looking for,” Vanessa explains. “I am always careful not to push my clients into any transaction; I want them to be 100% sure it is the house they want. I try to act as a facilitator and encourage them in the buying process. But above all, I want my clients to be comfortable.”

Real estate is a perfect match for Vanessa, whose dream job has always been a career that centered on helping people. “Many of my clients’ sole dream is own a home; some of them even believed they would never be able to,” Vanessa continues. I am literally able to help make their dreams come true. What could be better?”

Vanessa is just getting started in her success. In 2008, she plans to join the San Antonio Women’s Council of Realtors and start training for the ABR designation. Yearning to help people even outside the office, Vanessa stays active as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and is a regular participant in Houston’s Walk for Multiple Sclerosis.
