Before coming to the world of real estate, Kathee Livengood, who holds a degree in fashion design, enjoyed a career in retail and teaching fashion merchandising in Atlanta, Georgia. However, every time her husband got a promotion, the family had to move. That’s when Kathee, who had some experience with Interior Design as well, changed the focus of her career from clothes to housing. Becoming licensed in 1978, Kathee (a native Texan) and her family relocated to Grapevine.

“I went to work with a friend who owned one of the two real estate office in Grapevine at the time,” she says. “Back then we sold houses for around $21,000! I’ve been selling steadily ever since.” After spending several years as a co-owner and broker manager of her own real estate company, Kathee sold her half and joined              RE/MAX Metro-DFW to be an independent agent. “I was interested in the name recognition and brand value of RE/MAX,” she says. “Also, the location is right on Main Street in Grapevine, and I’ve learned over the years how important it is to have a great location with a great office.”

Grapevine itself enjoys a great location that continuously draws residents. Centrally located between Dallas and Fort Worth, the area enjoys a reputation for superior public education. “The schools here are excellent and the DFW airport is within city limits, which is very convenient,” Kathee explains. To market to these new residents, Kathee has one philosophy: community involvement. She entrenches herself in the community through both civic and charitable works and advocates the same to new agents. She is the past president of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and current president of the Chamber’s Women’s Division.

In addition, she is also on the Board of Directors of the Joy Wilkins Foundation, an organization that supports people with spinal cord injuries, and Keller’s Rocky Top Therapeutic Riding Center. In her spare time, Kathee enjoys antiquing around Grapevine.
