Tami Ligon is a perfect example of the old adage “from tragedy to triumph” and will be the first one to tell you that God has a plan. A former florist, Tami became a licensed agent 11 years ago after receiving encouragement from her previous husband, a builder of custom homes. Through this, she became experienced in the home building industry and developed great relationships with builders around the area. But when her husband died in a car accident, Tami was left on her own.
“I came into real estate full-time because I literally didn’t know where my next dollar was coming from,” Tami intimates. “I hit the ground running and used what I had learned to make things happen.” A lifelong resident of Wichita Falls, Tami signed on with Coldwell Banker and became a quick success. She crossed over to RE/MAX® seven years ago seeking the bigger financial success of the maximum commission model.
“I was about to be remarried at that point, and my soon-to-be husband kept pointing out to me how much money Coldwell Banker was making off of me,” says Tami. “But I was a little afraid of change as I’m sure many agents are. After five months, I took the plunge and it was the best move I ever made!”
In the seven years she has been with RE/MAX Wichita Falls, Tami has been a consistent top producer who has achieved Platinum Club and Hall of Fame status. Calling on the relationships she has built with area builders, Tami specializes in residential and new construction sales, working consistently with six builders. Despite a waning job market that challenges the area industry, Tami confronts all obstacles with a can-do attitude. “I operate on the wisdom that ‘Where much is given, much is required.’ Take what you are given and make it work,” she explains.
“Truth will never let you down or steer you wrong. This pertains to taking care of your buyers, sellers and listings. Make sure to follow through.” Tami is active in the real estate community and has served as President of Wichita Falls Board of Realtors for the past three years. At home, she is raising two grandchildren, Brendan, age six, and Hayden age two. Tami stays involved in the kids’ school, as they are the joy of her life.
