RE/MAX of Texas is proud to announce the opening of RE/MAX Hacienda. Just up the road from the US/Mexico Border, this new bilingual office services both the English and Spanish-speaking community and is headed by Owners Marcelo and Yvonne ‘Bonnie’ Laijas. An agent since 1990, Broker/Owners Marcelo and his wife Bonnie have been with RE/MAX for the past two years operating the successful RE/MAX Vista in Floresville.

“I elected to join RE/MAX because of the research I had done on franchises as part of my MBA studies,” related Marcelo, who will be graduating with his MBA this winter. “I found what RE/MAX has to offer is superior to all the other franchises I looked into. My instincts told me this was the best opportunity I would find. The result has far exceeded my expectations.

Still managing his office four hours away in Floresville, Marcelo has enlisted the aid of Hector Guerra, who works as both Associate and Office Manager. “Hector is a perfect fit for RE/MAX Hacienda,” Marcelo remarks.  “He is extremely knowledgeable and is a resident of the area. I couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with him.”

Located in a newly built office that shares retail space with a builder and mortgage company, RE/MAX Hacienda’s location is practically one-stop-shopping for buyers and sellers. The office focuses on residential sales for the growing population, but also branches out into commercial leasing. “Our location near the border encourages many international clients, so we strive to be a versatile office. We want to take on the best agents we can get and help them grow by having RSN streaming throughout the office.”

Marcelo and Bonnie have made no decision on how many agents they will take on at RE/MAX Hacienda, and prefer the local market to dictate their roster. “We want all our agents to have healthy careers and to make sure there is enough business in the area so that everyone gets a piece of the pie.”

 In addition to a commitment to their agents, RE/MAX Hacienda will also have a commitment to their community by becoming a ‘Miracle Office’ for Children’s Miracle Network®. “I strongly believe in giving back to the community,” states Marcelo, who is an active participant in local fire department fundraisers, charity golf tournament sponsorship and Scholarship Sponsorship in Wilson County.
