Top Producer Joan Imperator of RE/MAX Associates Northeast has been honored with the RE/MAX of Texas Agent of the Quarter award given by the RE/MAX Reporter Magazine. Easily described as a ‘powerhouse’ in Houston real estate, Joan Imperato is one of the top selling RE/MAX agents in Texas. She is consistently ranked among the top 100 producing RE/MAX agents in the U.S. and is the recipient of numerous awards. Like many successful Realtors, Joan built her career from the ground up.
A native of Westchester county New York (just north of New York City), Joan and her family moved to Kingwood 26 years ago. The change for her family was tremendous but the move itself was intended to be a temporary one. Almost immediately, Joan began to engage her new community, despite thoughts that her family would soon relocate back to New York. But when the family fell in love with Texas and decided to stay, Joan turned to real estate and started her career at Coldwell Banker. Her first listing was a home in her own neighborhood, which she quickly sold.
“I was told if you do something good, tell people about it,” says Joan, who took a very proactive approach to her personal marketing and farming. After a year with Coldwell Banker, she made the move to RE/MAX, leaving behind $2 million in listings, but bounced back fast because of her reputation for high quality service. “This is a results business. If you do a good job for one person, they’ll spread the word to another person,” Joan says. “But if you do a bad job, they’ll tell ten people!”
“RE/MAX is wonderful in that it allows you to make your own business decisions. I am extremely fortunate to have very supportive Brokers,” she continues. “With RE/MAX, you are allowed a level of independence you don’t get anywhere else. People associate RE/MAX with aggressive, professional and successful agents. I’ve always felt that when it comes to business you should associate yourself with a winner.”
For Joan, real estate is a true passion, one that she immerses herself in constantly by studying trends and market history. But above all, Joan loves the wonderful friends she has made along the way in her business. “Every year I host a Christmas luncheon for all my past clients,” Joan explains. “It’s completely selfish, I do it because I want to see all the friends I’ve made and have had the pleasure to work with.”
