RE/MAX of Texas has named Patricia Covarrubias of RE/MAX Associates Northeast II as an Agent of the Quarter for the final quarter of 2007. RE/MAX of Texas is proud to announce that Patricia Covarrubias of RE/MAX Associates Northeast II has been named the final Houston Agent of the Quarter for 2007.

2007 has been a banner year for Patricia Covarrubias of RE/MAX Associates Northeast II. Originally from Houston, Patricia lived briefly in California with her husband and son before relocating back to Houston in 2000. She has been a resident of rapidly-changing northeast Houston for the past three years. “This area has grown so much since my family moved here,” says Patricia of her market area. “There is a strong effort to build up the area and the landscape is evolving rapidly.” These signs pointed to a viable career change for her, and this year she made the leap from a career in the dental industry to a career in real estate.

Though the transition was naturally difficult, Patricia’s passion became her driving force. “I have family members involved in real estate, so understood what I was getting into, and I had always wanted to get involved,” says Patricia. “I wanted to provide for my family better and be responsible for my own business.”

Though Patricia had her family to offer advice, the transition was difficult. “It was very overwhelming at first, leaving my job and starting off on an entirely new career path. Getting started was difficult,” she explains. “But I just plowed forward and used as many of the RE/MAX® resources as I could, like Brian Buffini’s 100 Days to Greatness. That really helped me get myself on track.”

“100 Days to Greatness showed me the mistakes I was making and how to keep in touch with clients, build my database and sphere of influence and how to work with referrals. These are essential things to know at the beginning, but there were plenty of veteran agents in the class as well.” Patricia stresses that education is important to her and is always willing to take more classes, saying “there is always something out there you don’t know.”

In her second year as a Realtor, Patricia will continue to follow techniques she has learned this year, such as building up her sphere of influence. “In the coming year, I would like to work off more referrals and reach the RE/MAX 100% Club level of productivity,” she says. When not working hard at her business, she and her husband enjoy spending family time with their two sons, ages three and nine. Patricia volunteers heavily at Oaks Elementary where her son attends, acting as a Homeroom Mom for his class and staying involved in the PTA.
