As a former Marketing Manager for the Southwest U.S. division of the Xerox Corporation, Pam Harris came into real estate five years ago. As a lover of Possum Kingdom Lake, Pam and her husband spent years as ‘Weekenders’, couples who were only in residence on the weekend. “I was given the opportunity for early retirement from Xerox and took it,” says Pam. “Real Estate seemed like a good idea with my sales background, so I combined my interest with my love of the lake and we became full-time residents.”

A lifelong Texas resident, Pam has owned a home on Possum Kingdom Lake since 1986 and began working with Possum Kingdom Real Estate five years ago. Pam has been one of the highest producing individuals on Possum Kingdom Lake for the past 3 years. Pam currently holds the lake record for the highest dollar volume of sales in 2006 of over $10 million dollars. Early this year, her office entered the RE/MAX Network as RE/MAX Possum Kingdom, an office that had been established for 35 years. “I’m already enjoying the resources available through RE/MAX®,” Pam comments. “They are incredibly valuable to a small market like ours.”

As a newly Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, Pam works diligently to help her office keep its 80% market share. “The biggest challenge to selling real estate in this area is that competition to list our resort properties for sale is getting more intense while the job of selling the higher priced properties is becoming far more difficult.  Because of the beauty of our resort area, our inventory of cute cabins has been replaced by luxury lakefront estates.  Our properties just keep getting more and more extravagant.  As a local ‘boutique real estate office’, finding buyers for this caliber of properties was getting more demanding.  Many of our clients who strayed by listing with larger “Brand Name” offices from the metroplex discovered the hardship of long distance service.  The time on the market for our new million dollar plus inventory was just not acceptable.” Pam is now utilizing newly available marketing tools such as the RE/MAX Design Center and the advertising alliances with the RE/MAX COLLECTION to source the hard to reach upper tier buyers.  Pam is really looking forward to interaction within the “World’s Strongest Real Estate Network.”

Pam has stayed active within her community as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and as part of local church, in which she helped organize the celebration of its centennial anniversary.
