RE/MAX of Texas has named P.J. Hartley of RE/MAX Properties as an Agent of the Quarter for the final quarter of 2007. One cannot talk about the success of P.J. Hartley of RE/MAX Properties in Tyler in the singular. Her achievement in real estate is in part due to her partnership with Doug Crutcher, also of RE/MAX Properties. Together, the team of Crutcher and Hartley have been providing top-of-the-line service, particularly in the Luxury Home sector for the past ten years.

P.J. started out in real estate in 1995 after owning and operating her own dance studio for 12 years. “I have always been an entrepreneur, and I had a good grasp of marketing and advertising from owning my own business,” says P.J. “When I sold my business, I used the money to really market myself as an agent.”

Within two years, she was invited to join a new, boutique-style office in a developing Tyler neighborhood called The Woods. Here was where she met Doug Crutcher and the team of Crutcher and Hartley was born. “Doug and I compliment each other perfectly,” says P.J. “I tend to be very detailed oriented, and Doug is extremely outgoing with an innate ability to bring people out of their shells.”

 In 2004, the team decided to move from their independent brokerage to RE/MAX  Properties. “RE/MAX has a larger network and thus an opportunity for more referrals,” she says. “We were also able to interview agents to find the best fit for our buyer, and of course the national advertising blew other companies away.”

Since the team started servicing The Woods area, the neighborhood has bent into the luxury home market direction. To keep up with these changes, Doug and P.J. have strategically positioned their advertising to cover not only local interests, but luxury markets across the country. “We have advertising campaigns in numerous publications that target upper-end clientele. In 2007, P.J. acquired her LHMS designation and has made frequent use of the RE/MAX Collection in her marketing. She has served as a RE/MAX Collection Advisory Board Member and panelist at the 2006 RE/MAX International Convention.
