A RE/MAX® Associate since 2004, home-grown Texan and native of the Mesquite area, Misty Michael has launched herself to the upper ranks of achievers in real estate sales – though she didn’t originally plan on doing a lot of real estate. Misty’s former place of employment, a local accounting company, along with friends encouraged her to get her license. Later, in her first full year, Misty sold 44 homes.
“I missed the Platinum Club by a thin margin,” says Misty of her performance. “I began to build a team in 2006 and this year we have put 50 homes under contract since January 1st!”
A former student at the University at Texas at Dallas, Misty studied accounting and pursued that profession before becoming licensed. Now, as an Associate with RE/MAX DFW Associates V, she tackles the residential challenges of the Dallas market. “I started out working mostly with buyers,” continues Misty. “Now I am trying to expand my business by branching out into short sales and foreclosures.”
In addition to being a thriving businesswoman, Misty is a wife and mother. So how does she do it all? “Loving what you do is the key to succeeding at it,” says Misty. “Real estate is a wonderful way to help people and make great relationships. It is incredibly rewarding and I’ve built a team who shares my belief in truly caring about the client.”
When not out on the job, Misty remains involved in the community. She is involved with the youth committee at her church, sings in the choir, volunteers and loves anything to do with her 13-year old son Justin. She concludes “Without the support of Justin and my wonderful husband Ken, none of this would be possible.”
