From a house flipping hobby, RE/MAX Genesis agent Larry Allen has gone from corporate executive to an excellent real estate career in New Braunfels. Originally a veteran of the cement production industry, Larry grew tired of the corporate lifestyle and switched to real estate in 2004 for its flexibility. “The first few years were tight, but every year got better,” says Larry. “I liked being able to go at my own pace and also feel I did myself a favor by starting off with RE/MAX. Many Realtors jump from company to company. But once they are with RE/MAX they tend to stay put.”

Larry joined the newly opened RE/MAX Genesis II last year and has thrived under the support of owners Waymond and Jane Lightfoot and Sha McCumber. “The support I get from the owners is excellent and they don’t pull any punches when it comes to marketing their agents.” Born in Germany, Larry’s background as an Air Force child has informed his understanding of moving and enabled him to develop essential people skills. He has lived in the New Braunfels area for over 30 years and has come to know just about everyone. “I run into acquaintances everywhere, even when I’m out of town!” he says amiably.

Currently, Larry busy with real estate investment in condominiums, and is moving toward more commercial development and farm and ranch business. “I find commercial and farm and ranch more challenging then residential, though I love that as well. But it’s nice to have a new challenge,” he says. Larry is also eager to pursue professional designations and looks to have his ABR and CRS in the near future.

“I truly enjoy taking courses and attending breakout sessions at the RE/MAX Conventions,” Larry relates. “The training provided by RE/MAX is unparalleled in the industry and I’m happy that next year’s convention will be in my area.” Larry consistently sharpens his skill with participation in Buffini’s 100 Days to Greatness program and repeated attendance to Cheryl Fairbanks Peak Performance course, which he claims teaches him something new and valuable every time.

In addition to his attention to training, Larry also contributes his time to the Chamber of Commerce, New Braunfels Association of Realtors and Habitat Humanity. He is a volunteer fire fighter and an accomplished bass fisherman.
