As a native Texan who grew up in McKinney and lived all his life in the Dallas area, it’s safe to say that Jim Monroe knows his territory. Licensed in 1974, Jim came into real estate after earning a degree in Business and a brief stint working in the oil industry. “I grew up in retail, so I know plenty about selling,” notes Jim. “I wanted a profession where I could have millions of dollars worth of product and no inventory. Real estate was perfect.”

Jim learned the ropes in his first seven years as a Realtor with an independent office when he decided he wanted a company with a higher profile and joined the RE/MAX network in 1985. “RE/MAX® marketing and advertisements both locally and nationally are unparalleled. There was no way I was going to find anything as high profile as that.”

With 33 years in the industry, Jim has been witness to many changes and challenges in the Dallas market. “I’ve seen Plano be transformed from a small suburban community of 25,000 residents to now over 250,000, and small ranching communities with hardly 1,500 residents boom into the population of small cities,” continues Jim. A simple glance at Jim’s industry honors proves he has hardly been daunted by these challenges. He is a consistent member of the RE/Max Platinum club as well as member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and recipient of the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement award.

Jim’s strategy for success is simple and basic “Get your name out there!” Jim has earned numerous professional designations in order to enhance his credibility, including GRI, CRP, CRS and ABR. To keep his name in the consumer’s mind, Jim has produced his own newsletter for the last 25 years. “Even if a client just glances at it before tossing it, at least they’ve seen my name,” says Jim. He also keeps himself in the public’s consciousness by staying involved in the community through his membership in the Collin County Association of REALTORS®, local Rotary Club, and through his support of Children’s Miracle Network® and Habitat for Humanity.
