RE/MAX of Texas has named Greg Petrosewicz of RE/MAX Capital City as an Agent of the Quarter for the final quarter of 2007. Greg Petrosewicz, or Greg P. as he is more commonly known, is wrapping up his third year as a successful Realtor with Austin’s RE/MAX Capital City. A resident of Austin for the past 20 years, Greg comes to real estate from a 25-year career as a professional chef and caterer. “I went into real estate because of the great earning potential, but I had really always thought about doing it,” says Greg, who was greatly encouraged into the profession by his father and stepmother, RE/MAX Southwest Co-Owner Bette Lemon.
“There was really no choice involved when picking RE/MAX, my father and stepmother made certain of that,” he continues. “I was intimidated at first, since RE/MAX has a reputation of being the stronghold of seasoned agents. But when I met with Jeff Osborne (RE/MAX Capital City Broker/Owner) I knew it was the place I wanted to be. From the beginning, Jeff has been a great mentor and encourager.”
As it turns out, Greg has a natural affinity for real estate and great foresight in his marketing strategy. In his first three years, he has worked hard to build the Greg P. brand. “RE/MAX is such a powerful brand on its own, but I wanted to work in conjunction with that power to help create and manifest myself as a powerful brand. The strategy is symbiotic and I believe it engenders the spirit of working with the RE/MAX brand.”
As part of building his brand, Greg works diligently to increase his knowledge of real estate. He already has his ABR and GRI with his sights in the CRS designation in 2008. “Education is critical in any industry,” he says. Greg serves on the Education Committee of the Austin Board of Realtors and has attended Brian Buffini’s 100 Days to Greatness, saying “in real estate, you learn from fellow students as much as from coaches and trainers.”
Also important to Greg is his role as the Affiliate Coordinator of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, an organization that raises funds and awareness in fighting Pancreatic Cancer. The disease has taken the lives of three important women in Greg’s life, including his mother. Greg strives to raise awareness within his office at RE/MAX Capital City and has raised over $1,600 through his website www.FirstGiving.com/GregP.
Outside the office, Greg still keeps his chef knives sharp. He teaches a monthly cooking class and makes yearly batches of Christmas Biscotti for his clients, last year making 62 batches.
