As a first year agent with RE/MAX Achievers in Fort Worth, John Pendergrass is always looking for ways to market his strengths. Though new to real estate, John is a veteran Santa Claus. For the past 16 years, John has been donning the red coat and beard for Heart to Heart, an organization supporting families affected by Congenital Heart Disease.  “From the moment he enters the room, John keeps the children mesmerized with his charismatic charm,” says Sally Pearson, President of Heart to Heart.

Using his experience and charisma to his advantage, John offered his Santa services to his local neighborhood association. The party was a great success with over 50 participants who all enjoyed a visitation from Santa.  Each guest received a Christmas card stuffed with a magnetic business card and thank you note.

John has also joined forces with his 12-year-old daughter Ally, a marketing director in the making. “At the beginning of the school year, Ally asked me for a stack of business cards, saying she wanted to give them out to her classmates so their parents would know who I am,” John continues. “We took it a step further and brought Santa to the classroom Christmas party where each teacher took a picture with Santa. Each child was sent home with a picture and short note from me.”

The father-daughter team will continue to collaborate in the future. “There’s always this idea in real estate that everyday you are hired and fired,” concludes John. “We are sending out letters signed by my daughter that state ‘My daddy wakes up unemployed everyday. Put him to work for you.’”
