Darlene Dartez’s career revolves around one thing, balance. Like many other RE/MAX Agents, she has found innovative ways of maintaining a prosperous real estate career and a prospering family life. The mother of five children, Darlene’s passion for her family and her career, along with the 30-year partnership of with her husband, have helped her achieve more than just real estate success

Joining the world of real estate in 1998, Darlene seems perfectly suited for this industry; she has never met a stranger. “I’ve been in customer service since I was 13, working in various customer-related jobs, but I had real estate in the back of my mind,” Darlene explains. “My husband is a builder and he provided a gateway into real estate for me. He was very encouraging.” She was further encouraged by her Realtor turned mentor Gayle Kibel, also of RE/MAX Town & Country.

“Gayle sold one of my homes and told me I would be a great Realtor and when I got my license, she was the first person I went to,” says Darlene. In 2002, Gayle made the jump to RE/MAX Town & Country and Darlene followed her. “It was the best decision of my career and I can’t imagine being at another franchise,” she comments. “It’s all the resources that RE/MAX puts at your fingertips. We are a small office but we act as a cohesive team, and we have a wonderful broker in Dennis Kusenberger.”

Now entering her tenth year of real estate, Darlene is as busy as ever. With two young children still at home (ages 41/2 and 11), Darlene is looking toward increasing her designation count in 2008 with a CRS and Certified New Home Specialist Designation. “I would also like to earn my Broker’s License down the road,” she comments. “Not because I want to start my own office, but because knowledge is power and I want to service my clients to the very best of my ability.” Again, Darlene’s motives come back to customer service. 

Ultimately, Darlene would like to use her superior customer service skills to help change people’s perception about Realtors. “Every client who has had a poor experience with a Realtor is another person who thinks poorly of our industry,” she explains. “Every time I satisfy a client, I feel like I am helping to change that attitude.”
