RE/MAX of Texas has announced Celia Littlefield as an "Agent of the Quarter'. Celia began her career in 1979 when she joined a friend in becoming licensed. Passing the test easily, Celia quit her small office job and joined an independent real estate company owned by another friend. “As a new agent, I had it really easy,” she says. “Everyone in my office was extremely helpful. My colleagues helped me acclimate to my new career. It was a very positive experience. After two months in the office, I sold two houses in one weekend.”
The challenge of finding the right property for the right people enthralled Celia as a Realtor. Before the personal computer or the MSL, finding homes for clients was truly a treasure hunt. “It was so satisfying to find people the right homes, especially when you really had to search for those properties,” says Celia. “Nowadays, people find the properties they want online. Sometimes the client knows what property is for sale before you do!”
Celia remembers earlier days when high interest rates barred clients from buying She doesn’t sweat the current market situation. “It’s a fantastic time to buy a house. I remember when people could simply not afford to buy a home,” Celia explains. “There are always ups and downs, but are dozens of great reasons for people to buy a home right now. They shouldn’t wait.”
Prior to joining RE/MAX in 2007, Celia was familiar with the RE/MAX reputation and was happy to hear of the new RE/MAX franchise opening in Sulpher Springs. “The reputation, the name, the marketing tools and the great ownership made it easy to choose RE/MAX Advanced over Century 21,” she says. “The experience has been great. It didn’t take me long to become familiar with all the tools available. Our community has embraced RE/MAX wholeheartedly. I’ve experienced acceptance on all levels as a RE/MAX Agent and I credit the strength of the brand name for that. They treat us like we’ve been here forever.”
Celia maintains that her success comes from a take-no-prisoners attitude. “I don’t like the word no, from a lender or anyone that prevents my client from getting the home they want,” she says. “It’s a challenge that I love. There is always a way to get what the client wants. Also, I always remember that everyone is a potential customer. We should never turn up our noses at people who don’t want to buy now, because they will want to buy in the future.” Recently married, Celia is currently taking some time off from her career to spend more time at home and set up her knew household. She remains strongly involved in her local church and is an avid Bridge player.
