Throughout his career, Arnold Garza has been an experience-driven realtor. His entry into the industry came through a side hobby of flipping houses for quick profit. At the time, he was working as a manager for AT&T in a highly regulated corporate environment. Like many Executives-turned-Realtors, the corporate life had lost its charm.

“My older sister owned her own office and encouraged me to become licensed,” says Arnold, who was already very interest in the profession. He obtained his real estate license in 2003 and not long after opened his own independent real estate firm, seeing  significant success as a broker/owner. After two years however, Arnold became burned out.

“There are lots of responsibilities that people don’t initially realize when they own their own office,” he states. “But I am grateful for the experience as I learned a lot and have a lot to be proud of.” After deciding to let go of his company, Arnold went right to work researching the best offices and the best location in Houston for his business. He chose RE/MAX Galleria Associates. “The best thing to do was join the big dogs and RE/MAX was the obvious choice,” he says. “Joining RE/MAX has been the best decision I have made in this career and wish I had made it from the start.”

Now as a top producing agent, Arnold is looking toward what he feels is a largely untapped commercial market in Houston. “Many agents are wary of getting into commercial real estate,” he says. “The process is different and at times more involved than residential sales. But all it takes is a little more education and the opportunities are immense.”

Arnold also wants to expand his business in another burgeoning market, the growing Houston Hispanic community. In the coming year, he looks to join with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and add to his office’s multiculturalism. “The Hispanic community is very referral-based with clients having a strong loyalty to those who serve them,” Arnold relates. “Again, it is an excellent but unexplored avenue area of the Houston market.”

Arnold is the proud father of three boys and enjoys activities that include them, such as traveling and camping. He is also an avid movie fan, his favorite being Braveheart.
