“There is no I in Team”, stresses Annette Burns CRS, GRI, ABR of RE/MAX Greater Waco.  If anything is responsible for Annette’s success, it is that she remains part of a strong team that has been working well together for years. Who are her teammates? Annette has been working in real estate with her husband James Burns, SRES, ABR, for the past 13 years. Offering clients the benefit of their 30+ combined years of experience, the two joined RE/MAX® in 1997. In 2003, their son Joel, who has a degree in marketing from Southwest Texas University, joined them. He was previously a Realtor working in both Dallas and New York.

“We always knew we would come over to RE/MAX, even in the beginning. It was just a matter of time,” says Annette, whose tenure and high production have earned her five-time Platinum Club status and RE/MAX Hall of Fame status. “Being with RE/MAX is bit like owning your own company. That’s the level of independence you gain when joining.”

Having first moved the Waco area in 1973 has given Annette and her team a distinct advantage in their market. “We are certainly very familiar with our service area. Waco is a good market with a lot of growth,” continues Annette. To keep up with this growth, the team has taken advantage of RE/MAX technology to enhance their business. “The industry is becoming much more Internet-based. The old ways of advertising are no longer effective, so we’ve adapted to newer technologies to keep up.”

Even with new technology, excellent service is what has ultimately made Annette, James and Joel a successful team. “We receive lots of referrals and repeat clients, and that has helped tremendously with our ability to serve people,” says Annette. “Now that clients can search nationwide on www.remax.com for all major metropolitan listings, it is even better.” Outside of her office, Annette is also heavily involved in civic activities. She has lent her effort through the years to her local church, historical foundation, political campaigns and has been President of her Golf Association.
