RE/MAX of Texas is proud to announce the opening of RE/MAX Highplains Realty in Amarillo. The brand new office will be located in the bustling southwest side of Amarillo across from Walmart, a very high traffic area. Owners Winona Colson and her daughter Angie Thornton purchased two adjacent suites and combined their space to create a large office for their agents and clients.

“The market in Amarillo is very strong at this time. Building in the area continues to grow and people recognize this as a wonderful town,” says Winona, who has spent much of her adult life involved in real estate. “We have a strong agricultural base here, as well as great shopping and great schools. This is one of the hubs of the Texas Panhandle.”

Winona had previously been an agent with Keller Williams, but was urged to switch to RE/MAX® by her sister who is an associate with RE/MAX Lake Cities. In January, Winona and Angie, who was also working for an independent company, decided the time was right to get “Above the Crowd!®”. “We are really excited about joining with RE/MAX,” continues Winona. “This company is fun and friendly, and we believe in the power of its branding.”

Angie and Winona are starting off strong with a lot of concise plans for the future of their business and are taking a proactive approach. They will be taking on a broad spectrum of agent talent to fill their office and will integrate industry leading technology, such as the RE/MAX Design Center into their business.

The office will also be big supporters of The Komen Foundation and the new local children’s hospital currently being built in Amarillo. A grand opening event is in the works for April and the seven-story tall RE/MAX Balloon will be making an appearance to start this business off in a big way.
