“Listening carefully is the key. In today’s real estate market, hearing your client and understanding their needs is paramount. The sale or purchase of a home can be an emotional transaction, and the simple act of listening creates trust in a business relationship,” said Connie Carter of her 15 years in real estate. “What other agents have to say is important, too. Their input can make a big difference in successfully negotiating and closing a deal.”
Connie works with both residential buyers and sellers and relocation clients at RE/MAX Grand. She is not the least bit shy about praising Owner Robert Ricketts and Broker Matt Rembert, and describes them as “forward thinking;” with an office atmosphere that is “always positive and welcoming.” Connie puts a great deal of energy into her work, and appreciates the flexible lifestyle her real estate career allows. She emphasizes, however, that she is always available when her clients need her.
Connie’s career allowed her to accompany her daughter Lisa on the trip of a lifetime when Lisa was cast in The Sound of Music, and the production company toured seven countries in Southeast Asia for 18 months.
When Connie was asked to share some advice she immediately spoke of Albert Schweitzer’s comment on happiness, “Success is not the key to happiness.
Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”
Charitable work with the Children’s Miracle Network, the United Way, and her Stephens Ministry are a natural extension of Connie’s love for people. The knowledge that she has helped someone achieve their goal of home ownership or helped the less fortunate gives her a great deal of satisfaction. “At the end of the day, I am content knowing that I contributed a little something that may have helped out.”
